Family Vacation

We finally took a Family Vacation! We decided to drive down to Colorado so we could visit family and Charlie could golf. We were gone for a little over a week, it was a long trip. About a half day through Max was already homesick for his Nana, Papa and Hudson.

Our trip started out by Max and I leaving his dog and best friend, Buzz Lightyear, at his Papa John's house. (Charlie's Dad) This was the hardest thing he has ever had to do. As we were leaving John's house without Buzz- Max started crying his eyes out. He did not want to leave Buzz, he thought Buzz was going to get to go the the zoo with us. "No, take Buzz to the zoo," was all he could get out between sobs. Papa John to the rescue...he told Max that Buzz couldn't go to the zoo because he was too little and the animals might want to eat him. Enough said! Max wouldn't let anything bad happen to that dog. So Buzz got to have a "spend the night" with Papa John and Grandma Ro. Lucky him! They spoiled our dog rotten while we were gone! I am so thankful that they took care of our dog, with no complaints for an entire week!
Our trip was in took place in three phases...

Phase One...

After leaving Buzz, Max and I drove to Daddy's work (in Basin) and picked him up and started the rest of our trip. The driving part! We only drove to Casper that night and when Charlie was checking us into the hotel Max had melt down. He wanted his Nana and Papa, he called them on the phone and told his Nana to "Come get me Nana, in Casper, Nana." Max thought that our hotel was incredible. He started calling it a "castle." Apparently we don't get out much.
The next morning Charlie was able to meet up with his good friend Scotty and do a little golfing while Max and I got ready. We left Casper and started the long drive to Grand Junction. Six hours later we were there!

Phase Two...
Charlie's Mom has been working as a Tr
aveling Nurse and is currently in Grand Junction. It was so great to be able to spend a few days with her. Max had so much fun with Grandma Donna. They seemed to be inseparable! Poor Donna..she just couldn't shake him! haha! Donna took us up to the Colorado National Monument. That was a beautiful place. If you are ever in that area you should just drive through it, it only takes a little over an hour and some of the scenery in unbelievable. Charlie packed Max's clubs so they were able to do a little golfing together as well.

To Be Continued....
(eight days makes a long post!)
